8 Exercises to Build Big Traps


If I want to build big traps, what are the best exercises to use?


1. Trap Bar deadlifts
2· Rack pulls with straight or cambered bar if you have one
3· Barbell or DB shrugs. If using a BB, consider doing them with the BB behind you
4· Farmers walks with DB’s, the trap bar or kettlebells
5· Shrugs on the standing calf machine aka Hise shrug
6· Heavy rows of any sort, but especially straddling a barbell with one end wedged into the corner
7· Any direct neck work but especially the 4 way neck machine pressing the back of your head into the pads
8· The wrestler bridge, although I don’t think everyone has the flexibility for it
