How I Stay Motivated

Question

I know you’ve been in the game a long time so here’s my question: How do you stay motivated?

Answer

I’m probably not a good guy to ask this question, because my answer won’t be the norm.

Honestly, I wonder how people can’t or won’t exercise. It seems so simple to me: You don’t like the way you look or feel, you do something about it!

Many people just want to complain. They’re too fat. They’re too skinny. They’re always getting sick.

These people need to stop complaining and DO something about it.

Two Main Ingredients

Here’s the rub: It takes 2 things many people won’t tolerate: Hard work and time.

You need to work hard, there’s no fooling the weights or your body. Either train intensely enough to gain or find something else to do

In terms of time, the biggest mistake you can make is thinking you’ll make wholesale changes in 90, 60 or 30 days. I’ve even seen less on infomercials. Complete hogwash.

Many look to shortcuts insofar as bodybuilding drugs and/or whatever supplement they think will work.

There may be a time and a place for those, but not during your first 5 years or so of training.

The best thing you can do? Hire a good personal trainer.
